School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

St. Teresa’s School Council

We have had a School Council at St. Teresa’s since 2003.

Our School Council is made up of pupils from years 2 - 6 who have been elected by their classmates.

They meet once a fortnight on a Monday from 2.30pm – 3.10pm.  Their role is to make a difference to our school community and to the wider world.

Here are some of the things our School Council have been responsible for over the years:

  • The line markings in the Infant playground

  • The design of the Memorial Garden

  • The annual fundraising week in November

  • Last years Charity Marathon for Cancer Research UK

  • The annual school newspaper

  • The talent show

  • Organising and judging competitions

The members of the School Council elect their own executive committee who chair meetings and take minutes.  Being a member of our School Council is considered a great honour and children develop skills in communication and confidence.
