School Council

St. Teresa’s School Council

We have had a School Council at St. Teresa’s since 2003.

Our School Council is made up of pupils from years 2 - 6 who have been elected by their classmates.

They meet once a fortnight on a Monday.  Their role is to make a difference to our school community and to the wider world.

Here are some of the things our School Council have been responsible for over the years:

  • Annual fundraising week - raising money for charities such as Water Aide & NRLI.

  • The Big St Teresa's Litter Pick - Organising for the school to pick up litter in our local area.

  • The St T's Green Campaign - raising funds and improving our school grounds and increasing biodiversity in the school.

  • Organising and judging competitions.

The members of the School Council elect their own executive committee who chair meetings and take minutes.  Being a member of our School Council is considered a great honour and children develop skills in communication and confidence.
